Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was asked on Friday about his speech he gave to the United Nations in September which spoke of the pandemic and a “big reset” that has sparked conspiracy theories online and with Conservative MPs, pointing to “anxiety” over the coronavirus pandemic as the culprit. Trudeau appeared on a United Nations video conference in September, where he discussed Canada’s planned contribution to help the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. As the global coronavirus pandemic strikes, Trudeau said he and other leaders have met to discuss “fundamental gaps and inequalities” both within and between our societies. The “pandemic has provided an opportunity to reset” and “reimagine economic systems,” Trudeau said during the September video conference.
