These days, if I’m not working at my makeshift desk, I’m buried under my new quilt. Quince’s lightweight luxury goose-down comforter alone changed my outlook on down comforters. I’ve always thought a down comforter was stuffy, designed to keep you insulated and warm like a down sleeping bag does. But that comforter opened my eyes to the high, breathable side of the down.
The comforter is lightweight, made with 700 fill power European white goose down (certified to Responsible Down) and is sewn through the construction. This type of construction isn’t as warm as it is baffled (think about building a quilted coat), but it’s a good thing. This means it is perfect for all seasons or just warm sleepers, as the down does not cover the entire duvet. I also chose to add a duvet cover, although you may not need it. I found the satin material of the comforter to be a bit noisy, but once I fell asleep I didn’t notice it. Instead, I dive into a feathery abyss that sort of keeps me at the perfect temperature. There are even corner loops to help keep the duvet cover in place.
Down comforters are luxurious, something you only experience in luxury hotels or in a Jackson Hole AirBnb. Adding this comforter and duvet cover to my bed made me feel like room service was just a phone call away. I even tried to get my boyfriend to deliver breakfast to me in bed, but that was a lost cause on a Monday morning. I might be luckier on a Sunday.
