Biden science adviser wants lockdowns as tight as possible – Dateway

If elected, Joe Biden has vowed to shut the country down again if “ experts ” recommend him to do so, and that’s exactly what one of Biden’s “ science ” advisers is asking for.

Dr Michael Osterholm, director of the Center of Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, has joined Biden’s “Special Coronavirus Transition Advisory Team”.

Osterholm told reporters On Wednesday, he said, there should be a nationwide lockdown for four to six weeks in order to effectively manage the number of new cases and hospitalizations from the coronavirus.

“We could pay a lump sum right now to cover all wages, lost wages of individual workers to losses suffered by small businesses to midsize businesses or to city, state and county governments,” Osterholm said. .

“We could do all of this,” he said. “If we did that, then we could lock in for four to six weeks,” he added.

As family members greet each other through plastic sheeting, but wide open on all sides, still allowing the virus to spread anyway, Harrison laments that hell is what has been covid -19 is here and we are living in his madness.

Osterholm has repeatedly called for lockdowns and stricter measures to ensure their correct application.

“The problem with the March-May lockdown was that it was not uniformly strict across the country. For example, Minnesota estimated that 78% of its workers were essential, ”Osterholm co-wrote in The New York Times.

“To be effective, the lockdown must be as complete and strict as possible,” the article insisted.

As strict as possible probably means forcing people to stay at home, as European countries like Spain and France did earlier this year. Anyone traveling or simply on the street had to have papers giving them permission to do so.

There is no scientific evidence that lockdowns reduce the number of cases or deaths from the virus. Indeed, the World Health Organization has urged countries not to rely on such measures.

Unfortunately, this provides Osterholm with an excuse to argue that interlocks must be applied with an iron fist.

Joe Biden has indicated on several occasions that he would gladly do just that.
