Joe Biden’s latest cabinet pick for Fantasy League chief of staff Ronald Klain once said the US election was “rigged.”
Klain’s remark appeared in a Twitter response to a Vox post in July 2014, which examined a statistic claiming that “68% of Americans think elections are rigged.”
“It’s because they are,” Klain replied ominously, unknowingly undermining at the time the very institution that would elect his potential future boss.
The solemn remark by Klain, who served as chief of staff to two former vice presidents, Al Gore and Joe Biden, is being re-examined in light of President Trump’s legal complaints alleging electoral fraud.
According to Breitbart, Vice’s article focused on gerrymandering, the process of redefining district boundaries in favor of a certain political party in order to influence the outcome of an election.
“However, the reasoning could just as easily apply to large-scale mail-in voting, which was introduced in the middle of the 2020 election despite President Donald Trump’s objections and resulted in a strong Democratic turnout,” writes Joel B. Pollak.
