A British police chief has warned that the lockdown is a “time bomb” that could eventually explode into mass riots and civil unrest.
The UK has placed its citizens under different ‘levels’ of lockdown depending on where they are in the country, although anecdotal evidence suggests there is now a massive breach of the rules.
This could force the authorities to become more draconian in applying the measures, which in turn could trigger a violent backlash.
According to West Midlands Commissioner David Jamieson, “We are sitting on a time bomb here.”
“We are approaching the stage where you could see a huge explosion of frustration and energy,” he added.
“Things are very difficult in a lot of communities and it wouldn’t take much to start unrest, riots, damage,” Jamieson warned.
The comments came following another warning – that people who broke the rules by hosting family Christmas gatherings could have their celebrations cut short by police.
The West Midlands are currently under a Level 2 lockdown, which means it is illegal for two separate households to mingle indoors, ruining Christmas for many families or at least those who choose to play by the rules.
The prospect of video footage showing police officers entering homes to interrupt Christmas family reunions will only further push the public against the lockdown, which was introduced under the guise of ‘getting back to normal’ but has now become the lockdown. new standard.
