After being caught violating his own travel and assembly restrictions, California Governor Gavin Newsom has exempted an entire industry’s workforce from these restrictions, calling them “essential workers.” . But are they really?
Newsom was recently forced to eat crow after attending a friend and political adviser’s 50th birthday party at a chic, upscale Napa County restaurant for a $ 400 a plate dinner. Newsom apologized after being publicly humiliated by the San Francisco Chronicle.
Surprisingly, Newsom then declined to intervene when many members of his own legislature chose to attend a summit produced by a San Diego company that had violated the travel ban in place to host the summit in Maui, in Hawaii.
Newsom has released a new set of COVID-related restrictions, including a stay-at-home order, a curfew, limiting the size of private gatherings, and travel bans.
Andrew Cuomo joins the well-deserved ranks of a famous rapist and other thugs when he receives the International EMMY Founders Award.
However, for some unknown and suspicious reason, the entire entertainment industry is exempt from the restrictions, covered by Newsom’s exemption clause.
The order requires “generally that non-essential work, movements and gatherings stop between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. in the counties of the purple level.” The “purple level” basically covers all counties in Southern California and 94% of the state’s population.
But Newsom’s draconian edict makes do not apply to workers in the entertainment industry. Surprisingly, they – all from the principal to the best boy – are on the list of “essential workers” and thus enjoy the freedom to move around the state under their exemption from the restrictions.

Under the section of the decree, “Industrial, Commercial, Residential and Accommodation Facilities and Services”, there is essential worker designation number 15 which reads: “Workers supporting the entertainment industries, studios and other related institutions, provided they follow the 19 public health advice on physical distance. “

Unsurprisingly, the entertainment industry as a whole – its unions and guilds, political actors, directors, producers, writers, etc., contribute to Democrats and progressives… as does Gavin Newsom.
