Car enters line of NYPD cops during protest, at least one officer injured

A car with darkened windows drove through a line of police to avoid being stopped. At least one policeman was injured in the leg during the assault.

New York Post Journalist Joe Marino captured the moments that led to a violent assault on police with a vehicle in Brooklyn, New York on Tuesday night.

New York City police attempted to arrest the driver of a black sedan near the locations where further arrests of protesters took place. The driver of the vehicle with the darkened windows moves forward and stops in front of a line of police officers on bikes.

The occupants of the vehicle refuse to exit and the police try to break the windows.

The driver suddenly accelerates and pushes his way through the line of officers.

Marino reports that at least one of the officers injured his leg from the impact.

The incident occurred as officers attempted to make several arrests of protesters in the area. It is not known why officers attempted to stop and force entry into the vehicle.
