President Trump announced he would be released from Walter Reed Military Medical Center on Monday afternoon and assured the American people of not being afraid of the coronavirus.
“I will be leaving the large Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 pm. I feel really good! ” Trump tweeted.
“Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let him rule your life. We have developed very good medicine and knowledge under the Trump administration. I feel better than 20 years ago! “
Trump has also mocked mainstream media for criticizing him for his impromptu stint for supporters outside of Walter Reed.
Trump’s attending physician Dr Sean Conley told reporters on Monday that the recovering president “is back.”
Trump and First Lady Melania were admitted to Walter Reed on Friday evening after testing positive for the coronavirus and experiencing symptoms.
The president had received supplemental oxygen, treatment with remdesivir and anti-inflammatory drugs under constant surveillance by Walter Reed’s medical team over the weekend.
