Even when he courts us, Trump continues to insult black people

I am exhausted and speak for all of us. This presidency apparently went on forever, and the first season felt like a test of endurance.

But more specifically, I have had enough of Donald Trump’s incessant lies, his transparent racism, his oozing of toxicity. All of this was exposed during the last presidential debate, which again saw Trump take on Joe Biden, this time with a proficient moderator in Kristen Welker – only the second black woman to moderate a presidential debate. For one thing, watching the event only made me tired. On the other hand, I had a little rush when I remembered that this was the last debate and that there might soon be no President Trump left to watch.

The nicest thing I’ll say about Trump is that he didn’t allow the presidency to change him – he’s still the same racist his white supremacists voted for in 2016. In the section devoted to race, Welker asked the two candidates to speak to Black. and the brown-haired parents who are forced to give their children “The Talk” a conversation “to prepare their children for the chance that they might be targeted, including by the police, for no other reason than the color of their skin. ” Biden recognized how racism is replacing class, how discrimination and violence against blacks forces blacks to make decisions in the name of proactive and predictive self-protection.
