Exterior pocket backpack review

My outlook on backpacks changed completely after I started using the Away Front Pocket Backpack. I had never been a big backpacker – I’m very small with a young face, and I often feel like they make me feel like I’m on my way to school. But this backpack didn’t do that – in fact, I like to think it makes me look more my age. I got the bag a few months ago, and it’s been my choice ever since, not only because it’s so chic and grown-up, but also because it’s ridiculously functional.

Of course, this backpack makes a great travel companion: I’ve used it for weekend trips, and I’m sure when I fly again it will be great for the plane. It’s a big size – not so big that it’s uncomfortable, but not so small that it’s bordering on unnecessary – and it holds so much longer than you might think. I also love it for everyday use and as an impromptu diaper bag when needed.

The large zippered front pocket is where I put my most important items, the things I need so I can grab them ASAP. There is also a hidden zippered pocket on the back for things you definitely don’t want to lose (I love this for traveling and would definitely stick my passport and ID card there). Inside you’ll find an organization system that includes a padded 15 inch laptop pocket with a magnetic zipper to keep it in place, another zip pocket and a mesh bottle pocket. water. The main compartment is incredibly spacious, with room for so much more (I stuffed several books and clothes in it), and I love the detachable key clip that makes it easy to find my keys.

What I also really like about this backpack is that the main compartment has an extended zipper flap opening. You can open the whole backpack, not just the top, and it’s so much easier to find what you’re looking for. This kind of opening is a game changer for me – I don’t have to take it all out to find what fell to the bottom.

Other features include the water-resistant nylon it is made of (it is virtually indestructible), the trolley pocket that allows it to sit snugly on a suitcase, padded shoulder straps for added comfort and a top handle in leather in case you want to wear it. All of these features, plus the color options (I and love Coast, which is a greyish blue) make this the backpack I never thought I would need.
