Facebook has blocked former congressman Dr Ron Paul from editing his page, the former US representative noted.

On Monday, Dr Paul reported that Facebook had excluded him from his account citing vague violations of community standards.

“With no explanation other than ‘going against our community’s standards,’ @Facebook kept me from managing my page,” the former freedom-loving congressman tweeted.

“We have never received a notice of violation of community standards in the past and nowhere has the offending message been identified.”

In a follow-up post, Dr Paul explained that the only thing he posted on Facebook on Monday was his “Texas Straight Talk” column, “which I’ve been posting weekly since 1976.”

Several Twitter users took issue with Big Tech’s intimidation of the former Republican presidential candidate, including Dr. Paul’s son, Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.).

Latest censorship effort follows “very disturbing news” from Dr Paul last month of a questionable strike on YouTube on his channel for spreading “medical disinformation” – an action that often portends the channel’s deletion .

Facebook’s attempts to crack down on free speech also follow steps taken by the company and its Instagram affiliate to shut down the pages of U.S. President Donald Trump, which has resulted in a greater purge of the president’s web accounts at the same time. following unruly protests at the US Capitol in DC last week.
