Special box office titles and those that are also gaining a foothold in the wide release landscape make up the majority of the top box office numbers of the weekend – which is damn good in every way.
Some of these titles used to be considered a “specialty”, but since the box office is shifting and digital, PVOD and virtual cinema are becoming more and more part of the conversation, everything is a bit more fluid normal until the “new thing” is set up at the box office.
As reported by Anthony D’alessandro, number 5 is in this week’s top 10 Fatal with Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy. The Lionsgate thriller added 39 theaters this weekend and deposited an estimated $ 670,000 to bring its cume to $ 4 million.
