IIf you’ve ever tried to visit Silicon Valley, you’ve probably found yourself a little disappointed because there aren’t really any mainstream tourist attractions. This unofficial area that stretches between San Francisco and San Jose is often best consumed as this mythical place of our collective imagination.
Except photographer Ramak Fazel has put together a fantastic new coffee table book by Rizzoli after spending two months in the region that many believe to rule the world. Called Silicon Valley No_Code Life, this is the latest pick from Just Booked, our series on interesting new travel-related coffee table books.
Fazel documented the glamor – the catamaran on Oracle’s man-made lake or Apple’s posh new headquarters – as well as the less-than-glamorous passport studios for foreign nationals working at tech companies, the development crush along highways and motorhomes filled with workers because of soaring house prices. In addition, there are all the “cradle” sites where big companies had their humble start.
As you flip through its pages, you really get a feel for how both normal and abnormal life is on this peninsula.
