Fountain and pitchers – HubPages

You (may) think it’s not
goes as you imagine – but
happens exactly that way.
It then results in laws
that can’t be broken (like I can’t walk
in the street naked, without clothes), laws that must
that must be respected, words that must
to be followed literally; doors that must be
kept closed – windows that cannot be
open once or twice a year; What
exists beyond this door – it is not our
Business. Our flesh is sweet and she
can’t resist the force
glasses beyond this door: only the
gun manufacturers can go further
door, only gunmakers have flesh
who are strong enough to endure
these experiences;

You open your eyes
After a deep and prolonged sleep.
Your eyes meet directly
a crowd of people who came here
of the desert: these people are
thirsty – yet they have no tongue, and they
can’t speak. They don’t have hands either.
Everyone has a pitcher in the ground before
them, and they gently knock those pitchers, and
point finger at metal pitcher
who is there in front of you.
Your pitcher is metal, but it has
the leaks.
Their pitchers are in the ground, but so are they
have leaks.
You turn your head and find out
a deep (flowing) waterfall on the left side
of your head.
You had heard that there is an abandoned
metal foundry – somewhere in this
Meadow. You look at your wristwatch: by the
on your return from the foundry, each person
in this crowd will be eighty years old.
You could have waited here and invented
a shortcut. But the crowd is restless, wild,
and uncivilized. Before them you can’t
have clear ideas.
You decide to go.

The year is 2080.
A thick bed of yogurt ~ white cloud
covered the whole earth. The cloud
heals the earth below.
It is 8:15 a.m. At noon,
the cloud will dissipate and evaporate into space.
revealing a new world.
There is now a unified world railway;
You can go from London (via Moscow)
to New Delhi in 37 hours; from New York
in Buenos Aires, in 39 hours.
There is now a unified world government:
There is only one chair (for the whole
world) – the election must take place
in the middle of this year.
You sit on an armchair – on the bed
of clouds above your house (the cloud can support
weight) – turn on the starlink (powered by
SpaceX) Satellite Internet Radio – Drink Coffee and Enjoy
the morning sun.
You look at your wristwatch; he has
stopped working.

Tanmoy Acharya 100 (author) February 23, 2021:

Thanks, John.

The thing called “imagination” is made of the material that Emmanuel Kant defined as the “thing in itself”. The thing in itself is directly related to / with space (i.e. infinity). Imagination, in my opinion, is therefore itself limitless by its very nature. Practice can sharpen it and unlock stages in its ability, just like there are (unlockable) stages in a video game.

I’m glad you enjoyed the poem, and thank you again for your appreciation of this piece.

John hansen from Queensland Australia on February 23, 2021:

I don’t know what to say Tanmoy. Your imagination knows no bounds. An enlightening reading.
