In the days leading up to Biden’s inauguration, the nation’s capital was transformed into an occupied military zone like Baghdad. Armed troops authorized to use lethal force maintain checkpoints entering and exiting downtown Washington, DC Green Zone and and Red Zone perimeters have been established. Several bridges in the city from neighboring Virginia are expected to be closed next week for the grand opening.
Sean Spicer, President Trump’s first press secretary and current Newsmax TV presenter, posted a video apparently taken Friday night that shows a military checkpoint to exit DC near the Lincoln Memorial. The video also shows cars on 16th Street near K Street parked in rows blocking the roadway. But first, a staging report by Lyndsay Keith, co-host of Spicer Newsmax, of 16th and K in the day.

Another report on checkpoints to leave DC: “A friend just called me from his car in DC dropping his wife off at his office in the Northwest. They had to go through an armed checkpoint to enter the city! On leaving town, he had to stop at another armed checkpoint.
He was required to show his identity card. #UnlikeAnElection ”
