High-end brand stores are asking security guards to shut up and allow looters to steal luxury items in case the company is accused of being “racist.”
According to a New York Post report, “Shoplifters are terrorizing Soho’s upscale stores,” stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in products every week.
Stores have posted numerous security guards outside the premises in an attempt to deter thieves, but since the nationwide riots at the end of May, many are being urged to withdraw in cases of looting.
“If they [store personnel] stop them and say anything in the store before they leave the building, that often becomes a racial accusation, ”a local source told the newspaper.
“Brands… tell their employees to go away,” the insider added. “They don’t want to be the next Instagram video claiming to be a racist brand.”
NYPD Sgt. Joseph Imperatrice said “crowds of young passing groups” are responsible for the store blitz, grabbing as much as they can hold before running away.
There have been dozens of such incidents in recent weeks, with looters targeting Adidas, Fendi and Burberry, Moncler, Celine and other stores.
Criminals appear to have emboldened since the BLM movement gained momentum earlier in the year, presumably believing shoplifting a new expensive pair of sneakers to be a form of “justice.”
“The era of Black Lives Matter is a golden age for criminals,” writes Dave Blount.
“In the near future, all stores will look like ghetto liquor stores, with goods secured behind bullet-proof glass. A society that revere criminals like George Floyd, Jacob Blake and others cannot expect anything better.
Considering that on top of everything else, is it any wonder that people are fleeing New York in droves?
In the age of mass censorship in Silicon Valley, it is essential that we stay in touch.
