A homeowner in Louisiana used a gun to defend his home against a gang of four armed burglars this holiday season, killing two of them.
The incident happened in Lacombe, Louisiana, around 10 a.m. on December 8.
Deputies from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said a homeowner opened fire on four intruders after they illegally entered his home.
According to a relative, the men whipped the owner with a pistol, but he still managed to fire the fatal shots that ended the altercation.
Police said two of the home invaders died at the scene and they obtained warrants to arrest the other two men, Renard Causey Jr., 25, and Justin Hill, 21, who were hospitalized for their illnesses. injuries.
“The sheriff’s office has said it plans to sentence Causey Sr. and LeBlanc to first degree murder because their actions resulted in the deaths of their co-conspirators,” NOLA.com reported.
The owner’s 4-year-old daughter was unfortunately caught in the crossfire and was injured, according to local media, but is expected to make a full recovery after the operation.
As stated at Western newspaper, things could have turned out very badly if the man hadn’t had a gun handy.
“If the owner had not been armed, it is possible that he, his daughter and anyone else in the house at the time would not have survived,” writes Christine Favocci.
“The man’s firearm protected him and his little girl, just as firearms have protected countless other times for victims who would otherwise be at the mercy of their attackers.
