The adorable Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor cameo was, let’s be honest, the best thing about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s debut podcast that was otherwise not particularly compelling for Spotify.
After a rather boring half hour – a long list of their influential and famous buddies complaining about how difficult 2020 is for them – Archie’s’ Happy New Year ‘accompanied by Harry’s laugh and trademark’ Boom ! in the background, it was a truly uplifting and inspiring moment.
Harry and Meghan, of course, would have known exactly what they were doing. They knew Archie’s first public words would make news around the world, despite the podcast itself not making the top 5 on Spotify’s global charts. They are unlikely to complain this weekend about their 18-month-old son’s staging, given that they handled his public debut.
