Hundreds of criminal illegal aliens have been released onto the streets of California by court order over alleged concerns about the coronavirus.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced that more than 250 foreign nationals, many of whom have “criminal charges and / or convictions,” are roaming US communities again after being released from the Adelanto ICE processing center.
Having warned that Americans could be subjected to “unnecessary victimization by repeat criminals,” the agency said its reluctant cooperation with an order issued by the Central District of California to reduce the population of central Adelanto by about 730 detained at 465.
“While opponents who continually seek to discredit the agency might otherwise mislead the public into believing that those in detention pose no risk to public safety, nothing could be further from the truth,” he said. said Tony Pham, interim head of ICE.
“ICE complied with this excessive court ruling; however, the public should be aware that the decision undoubtedly puts them at greater risk.

At least 60 of the released detainees were facing final deportation orders from the United States, as ordered by federal immigration judges.
“The criminal history of those released included, but was not limited to: assault with a lethal weapon, gunfire, cruelty to children, contempt / violation of a protected order, domestic violence, disorderly conduct, improper driving. license, driving under the influence (DUI), false imprisonment, fraud, hit and run, grand theft, obstructing a police officer, possession of a controlled substance, prostitution, sexual offenses (including obscene / lascivious acts with a child), weapon violations and the federal offense of illegal re-entry after withdrawal, ”ICE explained.
The agency says it conducts rigorous testing and follows strict health protocols to ensure the safety of detainees and immigration officials, and believes the order puts U.S. residents at unnecessary risk.
“ICE has been placed in a difficult position to comply with a binding order that completely contradicts our duty to this nation,” said Pham.
“These criminal aliens have serious convictions and charges – releasing them is an extremely risky public safety bet.”
