At a campaign event in Philadelphia on Tuesday, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden called his granddaughter by the name of his late son, then called her by the name of her other granddaughter.
“This is my son Beau Biden, whom many of you helped elect to the Delaware Senate,” Joe said wrongly.
In fact, Beau Biden was Delaware’s Attorney General from 2007 to 2015 when he died of brain cancer.
Furthermore, it is not clear how the Pennsylvanians would have helped elect Beau to the Delaware attorney general.
“This is my granddaughter Natalie,” Biden said after Beau’s blunder.
However, he actually had his hand around his granddaughter Finnegan’s shoulder.
“No, I’m wrong,” he said, replacing Finnegan with Natalie. “This is Natalie, this is Beau’s daughter.
“And then Hunter’s number two, who goes to school here in Philly, is my granddaughter Finnegan Biden,” he concluded.
This senile old man could hypothetically become the leader of the free world in a matter of hours.
