The location of President Donald Trump’s Minnesota political rally scheduled for Friday will be limited to just 250 after Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison lobbied business owners at multiple locations.
The rally was originally scheduled at Rochester Airport, but Ellison’s office has demanded a “COVID preparedness plan” from officials in the City of Rochester, County of Olmsted and Rochester Airport, as well. that of the Republican National Committee to make sure the event was safe.
The event was then moved to the Dodge Center, prompting Ellison’s office to ask the Trump campaign and the owner of the McNeilus Steel building for their “COVID preparedness plan.”
This prompted the Trump campaign to move the event back to the airport.
“Thanks to the stifling dictates of free speech by Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison, only the first 250 people will be admitted,” the campaign said in a statement sent Thursday evening.
