Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse’s lawyer urges Trump fans to ‘dust off’ gun rights

Kenosha gunman Kyle Rittenhouse’s attorney is on Twitter again – this time urging supporters to “dust off those Second Amendment rights” and not let China “steal” lame President Trump’s election.

“It’s time to dust off those Second Amendment rights. The founders put it there for a very specific reason, ”lawyer John Pierce tweeted Wednesday night.

In another tweet, Pierce wrote, “Trump won in a landslide. The Big Tech triad, the mainstream media, and the CCP are trying to steal it. Obvious. Don’t let them. Don’t give an inch. Fight for every hurdle. Nothing less than our freedom is at stake. ”The post contained hashtags: #FightBack, #TrumpWon and # 1775.

Pierce then shared an image of Washington crossing the Delaware—An oil painting commemorating General George Washington and the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War – with the words, “All fighting takes place at night.”

Some Twitter users called Pierce for trying to “incite violence”.

When asked if he really encourages people to bear arms in defense of Trump, Pierce told the Daily Beast, “Of course not. Just metaphors.

“Our real enemy is the Chinese Communist Party,” Pierce said in an email. “All Americans must unite in this time of adversity as we always have. E Pluribus Unum. We are a family and a nation under God. We must all unite in peace and insist on free and fair elections. ”

Officials found no evidence of voter fraud in the 2020 election, despite Trump’s claims.

Pierce’s client Rittenhouse, 17, is accused of killing two Black Lives Matter protesters and injuring a third during an August 25 protest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake. Two days earlier, a Kenosha cop had shot Blake seven times in the back at close range, paralyzing him. Blake was not armed.

On the day of the protest, Rittenhouse joined a group of civilians with guns believed to be guarding businesses. Video from the scene revealed that the Illinois teenager tripped and fell to the ground before firing an AR-15 type rifle at protesters trying to disarm him.

According to a criminal complaint, Rittenhouse shot and killed one of the protesters, Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, after approaching the teenager and throwing a plastic bag at him. Several protesters chased Rittenhouse and attempted to grab his gun after he fell on the sidewalk. Rittenhouse then shot and killed Anthony Huber, 26, as he attempted to swing a skateboard at the shooter and grab his rifle from him. Gaige Grosskreutz, 26, who appeared to be holding a handgun, was shot in the arm and survived.

This week, Rittenhouse’s mother Wendy broke her silence to defend her son and instead blame protesters and law enforcement for the deadly episode.

Meanwhile, Pierce is on a publicity blitz that at one point attempted to paint Rittenhouse as a hero of a New American Revolution. As The Daily Beast previously reported, the attorney has pledged to send a “team of seals” of attorneys to Wisconsin and is supporting the teenager’s legal defense through the #FightBack Foundation, a vehicle right-wing fundraiser he started with libel lawyer Lin Wood.

In September, Pierce resigned from the organization’s legal fundraiser after The Daily Beast reported on the troubled financial history of his litigation firm Bainbridge Pierce, which is millions of dollars in debt.

“Don’t give an inch. Fight for every hurdle.“

A Wisconsin court commissioner recently set Rittenhouse’s bail at $ 2 million, saying he was considered a “flight risk” because of the life sentence he faces if convicted. Pierce recently told the Chicago Tribune a legal defense fund raised nearly $ 2 million to secure its client’s release, while a separate Christian crowdfunding site raised $ 565,678 for Rittenhouse.

On Tuesday, Pierce tweeted: “Please understand this because I am no longer #To defend oneself board of directors, I don’t have specific numbers. We should be looking at a few hundred thousand more people for a bond. But keep in mind that we’re going to need a lot more for all the defense of this case.

“There are also lawyers, investigators and experts who need to be paid,” Pierce added. “It will be a very long, hard and expensive fight. But one that we will win.
