Kyle Rittenhouse has been released from jail after posting $ 2 million bail through his attorney, according to reports.
“[Rittenhouse’s] Bond was posted this afternoon around 2:00 pm which was put up by his attorney, ”said Kenosha County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Wright Friday. “He is no longer being held at the Kenosha County Jail.”
The 17-year-old was accused of killing two people in riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin last August, in a shooting that his lawyers called self-defense.
The charges he faces are intentional homicide, reckless endangerment and being a minor in possession of a firearm.
Rittenhouse is due to return to court on December 3 for a preliminary hearing.
