The number yelled at me and I actually wanted to yell at me The Washington Post exit poll, or more specifically, black male voters in Minnesota who understood what initially looked like a blatant typo. In George Floyd’s state, which helped spark a new national awareness of the horror of black police treatment, 30% of black voters did the unthinkable. They voted for Donald Trump. It topped every other state in the poll, with Nevada second at 21%.
I looked again, shaking my head. Then I rushed to google “Black Men in Minnesota”.
Chris Fields, office manager of a law firm in Minneapolis, is among the apparent 30%. He applauds the exit poll numbers as good news for Republicans amid distant hopes the president could save this election from fraud. Yes, Fields, like many Trump supporters, believes the president’s claims about a stolen election may be valid, despite the mountain of credible sources and evidence to the contrary.
