Starting Friday, Oklahomans will no longer be required to wear masks or limit business capacity.
On Thursday, Governor Kevin Stitt (R-Okla.) Announced he would lift orders.
“Due to the progress we have made, I will be issuing a new Executive Order tomorrow: There will be no statewide restrictions on events or Oklahomans.” Stitt said at a press conference.
“I am also removing the requirement to wear a mask in government buildings. More and more Oklahomans are getting vaccinated every day, and new CDC guidelines mean that wearing a mask should be a personal decision based on your situation. “
“The standard for normal cannot be zero cases,” Stitt said.
“In Oklahoma, the norm of normal is freedom. The freedom to worship, the freedom to go to work and earn a paycheck, the freedom to visit loved ones in nursing homes, the freedom to send your children to school in person, and the freedom protect your family as you see fit. ”
“As long as I am governor, I will protect the freedoms of the Oklahomans.”
The governor said hospitalizations were down and it was time for the Oklahomans to take responsibility.
“Oklahoma has been fully reopened since last June. We are monitoring these cases. You have just seen the graphics. The numbers are lower today than they were last summer for an average of 7 days before some municipalities imposed more restrictions… We are looking at hospitalizations very closely. That was the whole goal when we thought about flattening the curve, 15 days to flatten the curve last spring. Today we have fewer than 300 people in hospitals across the state. We want to get our summer back. But also at the same time, we are telling the Oklahomans to take their personal responsibilities, to continue to be vigilant. And I think the Oklahomans will do the right thing. “
The order will come two days after Oklahoma’s southern neighbor Texas officially lifted Covid restrictions.
It’s official: the Liberals are dumber than the rocks. Is freedom in America dead?
