Heartbreaking footage shows police officer shooting black man after suspect removes what appears to be a handgun from his pants.

The fight that quickly turned into a shootout involving officers happened in San Bernardino, Calif., Outside a liquor store late Thursday night.

Police initially received a call about a man hopping on cars in a parking lot.

The suspect was later identified as Mark Matthew Bender Jr., 35, local news reported.

When the officer intervened alone on the scene, the man refused the orders, according to the authorities. The officer called for backup, but other officers had not yet arrived. – ABC7 Eyewitness News

The now viral video does not show the start of the incident.
