SCOTUS fails to break Trump losing streak in court

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito issued an order on Friday as part of the legal blitz against the counting of the votes in Pennsylvania – but it only strengthened the status quo.

Alito told counties in Pennsylvania that they should separate the ballots received after election day – something the state had already ordered them to do. Alito did not order counties to stop counting those ballots – which Republicans wanted the high court to do.

The move came at the end of a day in which Joe Biden edged out President Trump in the state, putting him extremely close to the 270 electoral votes needed.
