State Department blames rogue staff member after website falsely claims Trump presidency ends Monday – Dateway

The US State Department is reportedly challenging the changes to the biographical pages of President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, saying a disgruntled employee edited the pages.

Social media began swirling on Monday with images captured from the State Department’s official website showing the end date of the Trump presidency on Jan. 11 at 7:49 p.m.

Likewise, Vice President Pence’s page also showed his term ending “2021-01-11 19:44:22”.

The news has worried Trump supporters and haters, as the official end date of a U.S. presidency usually occurs on inauguration day at noon, when the transfer of power is complete.

According to The daily beast, however, the dates on the page were simply changed by a disgruntled employee who still has them for the Trump administration despite the president reportedly losing the 2020 election.

“The change – which has lit social media – was the work of a rogue employee, sources told The Daily Beast,” the Liberal Rag noted.

In one of his last tweets before being kicked off by Twitter, President Trump said he would not attend the presidential inauguration on January 20.

On a somewhat related note, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has repeatedly produced tweets extolling the various foreign policy achievements of the Trump administration.
