Stephen Colbert tears up Trump’s Nazi-Esque COVID propaganda

“You know, ladies and gentlemen, when Donald Trump first contracted the coronavirus, I thought maybe, maybe, he would come out of this experience with a touch of humility,” said Stephen Colbert at the top of his speech. Last show monologue Tuesday evening. “Because honestly, nothing would disarm his detractors more than if he stood up and said to the world, ‘I was wrong. I learned my lesson. And I really sympathize with the hundreds of thousands of people who have been seriously ill or lost their lives as a result of this pandemic. “

“But I forgot one thing,” the host continued. “He never does that.

Instead, Trump returned to the White House from Walter Reed Hospital on Monday in the most dramatic way he could imagine. “It was timed so that he could appear live on the evening news and every item was pure strongman propaganda,” Colbert said, showing footage of the president walking triumphantly down the stairs. “Only Donald Trump would think that going up the stairs is an achievement,” he joked.

“Once on the balcony, Kim Jong Don took off his mask!” Exclaimed Colbert before imitating the president. “I’m back from the hospital, and to dispel lingering doubts, I haven’t learned anything. Kneel down before me, weak and withered, and inhale my precious droplets!
