Although Texas Republican Party Chairman Allen West has pledged not to delete the party’s Gab account, the state’s Republican Executive Committee today voted to bypass West’s decision and delete the account. This follows Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s baseless lie that Gab is “anti-Semitic” and therefore has no place in Texas.
At a party meeting today, SREC “voted to delete the @TexasGOP Gab account on a 35-25 vote.” Ironically, the news was canceled by the Texas Republican Initiative, which says its goal is to grow the “Republican Party by supporting and communicating Republican leadership successes to all Texans.”
It comes after Abbott declared, without proof, that Gab was an “anti-Semitic” platform that had no place in Texas. National file reported:
In the video, Abbott is seen seated in his wheelchair, flanked by the American and Texan flags, with the Israeli flag playing a leading role centered directly behind him.
It should be blindingly obvious by now. Joe Biden is a complete liar.
“Anti-Semitic platforms like Gab have no place in Texas and certainly don’t represent Texas values,” Abbott said. The governor then posted an anonymous law created by Texas Republican representatives Phil King and Craig Goldman, which he proudly proclaims to fight “anti-Semitism in Texas.”
In a statement, Gab CEO Andrew Torba told National File: “The Texas GOP has been successfully overthrown by awakened liberal women like Cat Parks who falsely claim to be conservative. This is incredibly pathetic and the GOP across the country will continue to lose unless and until real leaders with a backbone come together to take up the leadership torch.
“The GOP must immediately remove subversive liberals from its ranks or risk never winning an election again. Texas voters will remember this.
National File has requested a comment from the Texas Republican Party on the thought process behind the vote and to confirm that the vote will result in the Texas Republican Party being forced to “deform” its social media account. The national file did not receive an immediate response.
At the time of posting, the Texas GOP Gab account has not been deleted. It was created at the end of January this year and has gathered over 21,400 followers.
