There was a shootout today in Maryland near the US Army base at Fort Detrick. The 38-year-old suspect shot two men before being shot.

Two people were seriously injured in a shooting near Fort Detrick, a military base in Frederick County, Md., Tuesday morning. The suspect in the shooting is dead, police said.

An active shooter emergency at a Maryland business park near Fort Detrick on Tuesday morning left two men seriously injured and the suspect, a member of the U.S. Navy, is dead, officials said.
Frederick, MD, police said they were “responding to an active shooter” on Progress Drive near Monocacy Boulevard. At around 8:20 a.m. local time, the gunman attended a business in Riverside Tech Park, about 4 miles from Fort Detrick, causing people to leak inside, Frederick Police Chief said. Jason Lando.
Lando said after the shooting, the suspect drove for about 10 minutes to Fort Detrick, where he was killed by staff.
