Anna Ruch, 33, had never met Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) before a wedding reception in New York in September 2019.
According to a report, the governor was working in the hall after giving a toast to the newlyweds, and when he bumped into Ruch, she thanked him for his kind words about his friends.
Cuomo “put his hand on Ruch’s bare lower back,” she said in an interview on Monday.
When she removed his hand from hers, the report quoted:
Ruch recalled that the governor remarked that she seemed “aggressive” and placed her hands on her cheeks. He asked if he could kiss her, “loud enough that a friend standing nearby could hear him.” Ruch was taken aback by the plea and walked away as the governor moved closer.
“I was so confused, shocked and embarrassed,” said Ruch, whose recollection was corroborated by the friend, texts and photographs of the event. “I looked away and had no words at the time.”
Another accuser is set to expose the corrupt behind-the-scenes actions of Andrew Cuomo.
“He said, ‘Can I kiss you?’” Ruch said. “I felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed when in reality he was the one who should have been embarrassed. Apparently, according to the report, a friend captured the exchange in a series of photographs taken on Ruch’s cell phone.
Ruch later said she must have asked a friend if Cuomo’s lips had made contact with her face as she walked away. The governor had kissed her cheek, she was told. Ruch said:
It is the act of impunity that strikes me. I had no choice in this regard. I had no choice but to have his physical domination over me at the time. And that’s what infuriates me. And even with what I could do, removing his hand from the lower back of my back, even doing that wasn’t clear enough.
