Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) on Thursday wrote a letter asking FBI Director Christopher Wray to refrain from investigating recently revealed corrupt business transactions by the Biden family until after the 2020 election.
“We are writing about press reports of documents describing Hunter Biden’s activities, and found on a laptop computer in a Delaware repair shop,” the couple wrote. “We are deeply concerned that in response to these reports, the Trump administration will take action ahead of Election Day that seeks to harm the Democratic presidential candidate and undermine the rule of law.”
The letter shows Democrats are concerned that President Trump is asking AG Barr to act as soon as possible.
“We need to get the Attorney General to act and act quickly,” POTUS recently said.
Schumer and Wyden are also concerned that Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani is talking about the documents found in Hunter Biden’s laptop, dismissing the bombshell information as “a long-standing Russian effort” to disparage Biden.
However, the FBI, DOJ and DNI Ratcliffe recently confirmed that Hunter’s laptop and emails in question were not part of a Russian disinformation campaign.
In what could be a questionable offense, the couple wrote: “As is known, Mr Giuliani has partnered for years with people linked to the Kremlin in an attempt to fabricate the former vice president. .
Closing their letter, the Main Democrats call on FBI Director Wray to “resist pressure from President Trump and other partisan actors to take action designed to benefit President Trump politically on the eve of the election.” Giving in to such pressure would deeply undermine our national security interests. and the credibility of law enforcement, and could have devastating consequences for the resilience of our democracy. “
