The president made the admission during a campaign rally speech Thursday in Greenville, North Carolina.
“Someone said to me the other day, ‘You are by far the most famous person in the world.’ I said, ‘No, I’m not. No, I am not, ”Trump said, playing the conversation.
“They said, ‘Yes you are’. I said no.'”
“They said, ‘Who’s the most famous? ”
“I said ‘Jesus Christ,’” the president said, at which point the crowded crowd erupted in cheers and applause.
Trump led the comments after addressing the recent COVID-19 diagnosis from two assistants on Democratic oppositionist Joe Biden’s team, according to The hill:
Before praising Jesus, Trump offered his condolences to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s campaign team over the news of two aides who tested positive for COVID-19.
“Masks, no masks, everything, you can do whatever you want, but you know you still need the boss’s help,” Trump said, pointing to the sky.
Trump continues his momentum with a busy election rally schedule starting this weekend, starting with two rallies Friday in Ocala, Florida, and Macon, Georgia.
