US Capitol on lockdown after car crash (two police officers injured)

The United States Capitol is locked after a car crashed into a security fence near the building on Constitution Avenue. A congressional reporter posted a copy of the alert sent along with a video of the police response seen from the Capitol east front on the House side.

Keep previous updates for registration. Last update at 2 p.m .: The driver crashed into the barrier on the Senate side, got out of the vehicle armed with a knife.

Update via Capitol Police, “ INCIDENT: USCP responds to North Barricade Vehicle Access Point along Independence Avenue for reporting someone crashed into a vehicle in two USCP officers. A suspect is in custody. The two officers are . All three were taken to hospital. ”
