Viral videos feature truck drivers discussing national strike – Dateway

Viral videos are posted on social media with truckers in the United States discussing the possibility of a nationwide strike on November 29 to protest the coronavirus lockdown measures and the election.

“For now, it’s November 29,” says a trucker. “On November 29, we park and we do not move… November 29 is the day we take this country back. Make known. It’s our time. We say what’s going on, “he adds, before warning,” the shit is going to get real.

A second video features another trucker describing the reasons for the strike – the coronavirus lockdown measures that unfairly affected drivers as well as the outcome of the presidential election.

The individual, who goes by the @brickpaad handle on TikTok, says that at one point truckers were considered important because they made sure people were given toilet paper and gas to heat their homes.

“We’ve been here in the middle of this pandemic all this time bringing you shit and how can you thank us?” he asks.

“You close the restaurants where we eat… then you close our rest areas. Now in Wyoming there is talk of not even plowing the highways this winter because they can’t afford it, ”he adds.

“And to top it off, 70 million of you voted against the trucking industry, against first responders, against oil and gas – we won’t forget that shit, you already did but we will not.

A separate report from The Counter details how more than 100 truck drivers in New York City “are threatening to strike and shut down Whole Foods and Stop & Shop supermarket supply chains in the tri-state area.”

“The drivers say their employer, food distributor United Natural Foods, better known as UNFI, hasn’t given them basic PPE or sanitized their trucks for months,” the report said.
