Earlier on Monday Danger! Champion Ken Jennings made his debut as the first guest presenter after Alex Trebek.
Jennings paid tribute to Trebek shortly after he left the stage. “Sharing this stage with Alex Trebek was one of the greatest honors of my life,” he said.
“Not many things in life are perfect, but Alex did this job pretty perfectly for over 36 years, and it was even better up close,” he continued. “We were blinded by his intelligence, his charm, his grace – really, there is no other word for it.”
“Like all Danger! Fans, I miss Alex very much, “Jennings said in a trembling voice. “And I thank him for everything he has done for all of us,” he added.
“Let’s be very clear: no one is ever going to replace the great Alex Trebek, but we can honor him by playing the game he loved,” he concluded. Jennings then introduced the attendees for the night and started the show.

Last week, Danger! Executive Producer Mike Richards told Dateway, “Ken stepped in and did a great job for us as a guest host. We will have a number of hosts throughout the spring. “
Richards wouldn’t discuss names, but Katie Couric should be on the list, the Los Angeles Times reported last week.
A permanent new host won’t be named until spring, Richards said.
“We’re going to take the time and talk to a lot of people, host some people and see what our fans think too,” said Richards.
On Friday the show ran its own homage to Trebek after the end credits of the show. You can see that below.
