Welsh government now appears to have banned book sales – Dateway

Images and images of Welsh supermarkets and shops demarcating entire areas with items deemed ‘non-essential’ continued to flood social media over the weekend as it appears the government even banned books there.

Following the implementation of a full nationwide lockdown in the UK country, people started to share their experiences while trying to shop:

Confusion over what is and is not “essential” angered people, after cooking, clothing and bedding sections were covered with plastic sheeting, but the Halloween tattoo did not been affected:

Angry citizens began to take action:

Residents of Wales are currently under a ‘level 3’ lockdown, meaning people are urged to stay in their homes, must not visit other households, while pubs, restaurants, gyms, churches and stores deemed “non-essential” are all closed.

But now it looks like the prank has taken a dark turn, with books and writing materials banned:

El Paso is the new prototype of covid lockdown tyranny 2.0, as the virus multiplies in El Paso. The government replaces privacy protection and police officers issue fines and orders to force citizens to be followed.

What is and is not deemed ‘essential’ is now completely on hold, as ministers have said people should be allowed to purchase ‘non-essential goods’ if there are’ circumstances exceptional ” which meant that they were essential:

Some supermarkets have given up and admitted that they let customers decide what is essential and what is not.

Some residents are still trying to see the lighter side:

Because it has already gone too far, but thousands of people have signed a petition to abandon the draconian measures.

The petition to the Welsh government states: “We do not agree that this is prudent or rational and will create more harm than good.”

“We don’t agree, for example, that parents should be banned from buying clothes for their children during lockdown while they shop. It is disproportionate and cruel and we ask that the decision be overturned immediately, ”adds the petition.

At the time of writing, the petition had over 63,000 signatures.
