New York state’s COVID cases hit a new high last week.
More than 15,000 new cases have been reported almost every day in the past week.
Despite this, Governor Cuomo announced Monday it was time to reopen the state.
Cuomo said, “We just can’t stay closed until the vaccine hits critical mass.”
If the disease is so horrible, why would he reopen the state now?
So what has changed?

Governor Andrew Cuomo has called for the economy to be reopened after strict lockdowns in New York that crippled businesses.
“We just can’t stay closed until the vaccine reaches critical mass. The cost is too high. We will have nothing more to open. We have to reopen the economy, but we have to do it smart and safe, ”he tweeted Monday morning.

Executives in New York have been blasted for lockdowns that have left small business owners begging the state to reopen while even flouting the rules to keep operating.
