Senator Rand Paul slammed Republicans on Monday for voting for a massive $ 900 billion coronavirus relief bill, saying they are no better than the Democrats they routinely call ‘ “ socialists ”.
“To the so-called conservatives who quickly identify the socialism of the Democrats: if you vote for this spendthrift monstrosity, you are no better,” Paul urged in a speech in the Senate:
The Democratic-controlled House, as well as the Senate, passed the legislation, also covering a $ 1.4 trillion spending bill, which prompted Paul to criticize the move as the government giving “l ‘free money’.
“When you vote to give away free money, you lose your soul and forever give up any semblance of moral or fiscal integrity,” Paul urged.
“If free money was the answer… if money really grew on trees, why not give more free money?” Said Paul.
“Why not give it all the time?” Why stop at $ 600 per person? Why not $ 1,000? Why not $ 2,000? Maybe these new free-money Republicans should join the Everybody-Gets-A-Guarantee-Income Caucus? Why not $ 20,000 a year for everyone, why not $ 30,000? If we can print money with impunity, why not do it? Proclaimed the senator.
Tom Pappert invites Michigan anti-lockdown activist Adam Boyd, who has recently started his fight against tyrants and feels inspired to inspire others.
Besides Paul, only five other Republicans voted against the legislation:
Senator Ted Cruz tweeted that there was not even time to read the bill, ironically endorsing far-left Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:
Paul also noted that it would have been impossible for anyone to have read the bill:
Paul pledged to continue to “ sound the alarm ” on overspending:
